Wikis#16

Wikis from what I've read about are very useful. Another informative place to read and can add your own knowledge. I think libraries can utelise this, but as one article said "it needs a purpose" and that is a good point. A great way to provide information, share thoughts and upcoming events. The more I'm clicking away and getting into all this information on Wikis, what a great idea for libraries.

So many great ideas out there on the net, why invent the wheel, when Wikis is all about editing, writing and then saving. Marketing, bookclubs, subjects(cataloguing) with links on booklists. Of course one may say that someone could vandalise the website, but recently some wikis ask you to login. That's unfortunate but such is life. We mustn't give up cause some people ruin it for everyone.

I think you mentioned that magic word "purpose" It's all very well implimenting web 2.0 technology, but we certainly need to keep in mind the reason we are implimenting it and the management of it.
Keep up the good work
